NSE All Share Index: Gainers: Unity Bank, Fidson, Skye Bank, Berger, Losers:Flourmill, Transcorp, Neimeth

Activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange witnessed new entrants on the gainers list as Unity Bank Plc and Fidson Healthcare Plc featured among the five top gainers on Wednesday, even as the All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.33 percent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at 20.20 percent.

The All Share Index closed at 32,302.32 against the previous close of 32,410.20 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦11.133 trillion against previous close of ₦11.170 trillion.

Volume traded increased by 51.02 percent from 206.184 million to 311.381 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 74.82 percent from ₦1.702 billion to ₦2.975 billion in 4,312 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 250.527 million shares exchanged for ₦1.852 billion. Conglomerates came next with 31.294 million shares traded for ₦0.047 billion, Consumer Goods, Oil And Gas, Ict sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

Niger Insurance Plc, FBN Holding, Transcorp, Zenith Bank and United Bank for Africa were the most active stocks by volume. Unity Bank Plc, Fidson Healthcare Plc, Berger Paints, Continental Re-Insurance Plc and Skye Bank emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Flourmill Nigerian Plc, Neimeth, Transcorp, C& I leasing and Julius Berger topped the losers’ chart.

In all 97 stocks were traded, with 12 gainers and 33 losers, while 52 stock prices were unchanged at the close of business on Wednesday.
