To our fellow Nigerian working people,
In the face of challenging times, we, the Campaign for the Socialist Transformation of Nigeria, stand in unwavering solidarity with you as you take to the streets tomorrow to protest against the relentless onslaught of anti-people policies imposed upon us by those in power. We acknowledge your courage and determination to demand justice, fairness, and a better future for all.
The constant and unjustified hikes in fuel prices, under the deceptive pretext of fuel subsidy removal, have only exacerbated the difficulties faced by ordinary citizens in Nigeria. We understand the immense burden placed on your shoulders due to the rising cost of living, inadequate wages, and the devaluation of the naira, which has significantly weakened the purchasing power of our hard-earned money.
We also recognize and condemn the further attacks on the Nigerian people, including the unjust electricity tariff hikes and the unaffordable increases in school fees, which have hindered access to essential services and quality education for many.
These oppressive policies are symptomatic of a system that prioritizes the interests of a privileged few at the expense of the majority. As advocates for justice, equality, and genuine social progress, we firmly believe that it is time to challenge and dismantle this exploitative system.
Together, we must strive for a society that places the well-being of its citizens at the forefront. A society where basic necessities such as education, healthcare, and access to utilities are considered human rights and not commodities to be exploited for profit. A society where workers are valued, their labor rewarded justly, and their rights protected.
In solidarity with your cause, we call for the establishment of a truly democratic and socialist Nigeria, where power is returned to the hands of the people. Only through unity and collective action can we bring about the transformative changes necessary to build a nation that works for all, not just the privileged few.
As you raise your voices in peaceful protest tomorrow, know that you do so with the support of countless others who stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you in the pursuit of a more equitable and just Nigeria.
