Dr Ola Balogun
Foremost Newspaper columnist, Owei Lakemfa who earlier on Tuesday morning alerted the public on an alarm raised by Dr. Ola Balogun that his home in Lagos was surrounded by the police and he feared for his life, has said the pioneer film maker, cultural Ambassador, musician and author is with the police.
He said the Police Command in Lagos State reacted immediately by directing the DPO of Ketu Police Station to go to the house and take charge of the situation.
“I have spoken with both Dr. Balogun and the DPO and I am satisfied that the elderly film maker is safe at the police station, Lakemfa said, adding that,
“It turned out that it is a case of alleged assault and the police is playing the role of a peace maker.
“I thank all those who took immediate action including sharing my post and contacting the Police headquarters in Abuja and State Command.
“Also, my appreciation to the Police Command in Lagos State for its professional handling of the case.”
Lakemfa had said that he received an SOS call from Balogun, 78, that the police has surrounded his home and he was in fear for his life.
Dr. Balogun lives alone at No 5B, Salvation Close, Olorunda, Ketu, Lagos.
