The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter has “condemned in strong terms, the subsidy removal and subsequent increase in the prices of pump price by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidency.”

According to the press statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Babatunde Balogun, ” the removal is ill-timed, satanic and unacceptable. Nigerians have suffered too much in the hands of the All Progressives Congress led national leadership since it assume power nationally in 2015.

“First, under the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari through several anti-masses and poverty promoting policies, and when we though there would be a bit of relief under the campaign toga of ‘RENEWED HOPE’ President Tinubu used during his campaign , what we got in his first 24hours in office is another level of renewed hardship.

“The question is, is this the way to thank Nigerians for voting him into office as the 16th President of Federal Republic of Nigeria? This is simply heartbreaking, inhuman, satanic and unacceptable. We want to use this medium to first urge the President Tinubu to as a matter of importance reverse this bloodsucking policy and if he fails,

“We urgent the national leadership of the labour centres of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria as well as the Nigeria Labour Congress to begin mobilization for a survival showdown with the government. We cannot continue like this. Enough is enough….. People united, can never be defeated…..”
