The governing All Progressives Congress APC has finally laid to rest the fight for the leadership of the National Assembly as it released zoning formula for the positions in the impending 10th National Assembly ahead of its inauguration in June.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Barrister Felix Morka said the APC also micro-zoned the leadership positions to individuals in the regions.

He said that after the meeting between the National Working Commitee, the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and stakeholders, the party decided that while the Senate Presidency was zoned to South-South for Godswill Akpabio  from Akwa-Ibom, the Deputy Senate Presidency slot was zoned to North-West for Barau Jubrin from Kano.

Similarly, the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives was zoned to North-West for Abbas Tajudeen from Kaduna), while the Deputy Speaker was zoned to South-East for Benjamin Kalu from Abia.

The APC called on party leaders, members and all Nigerians to continue to work for peace and progress of the country, during and beyond the current period of leadership transition.
