Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazak of Kwara state
In the latest results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commision, INEC, on Sunday night, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state has been re-elected. He defeated his closest rival of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Yahman Abdulahi, a former House of Representative member in all the 16 local government areas of the state in the election results declared by INEC, returning officer Professor Isaac Itodo.
His Yobe and Gombe counterparts, Mai Buni and Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe states, respectively were also re-elected for a second ter. In Yobe, Buni polled 317,113 votes to defeat his closest rival, Sheriff Abdullahi of the PDP, who scored 104, 259.
In Katsina State and Jigawa states where Governor Aminu Masari of the APC and Mohammadu Badaru, respectively have served out their terms, the governing party retained the governorship seats.
Mai Bala Buni of Yobe State and Dikko Umar Radda
Dikko Umar Radda of the APC, was elected governor of Katsina state having polled 413,066 votes, while his closest rival from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lado Yakubu Danmarke, secured 213,737.
In Jigawa, former PDP Governor Sule Lamido’s son who, Mustafa who contested on the platform of the PDP succumbed with 368, 726 to APC’s Umar Mardi who scored 618,449.
