Few days after Governor Babajide Sanwo- Olu reassured Lagosians about their safety following unverified security reports that terrorists had targeted Lagos among other states, gunmen struck on Tuesday morning and kidnapped members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, near inward Lagos bound Kara bridge .

An RCCG pastor who gave his name as Adebayo told a radio station that the masked gunmen stormed the area around 6:20 am on Tuesday according to his wife who witnessed the attack in the area by Berger Bus stop.

According to Adebayo, “My wife witnessed it about 6:20 am. Even in the Church, they carried some people away. I had to behave as if I was one of them to be able to rescue my wife. My wife and son were in the car coming on the long bridge. We then ran away and came back ten minutes later, by which time they had ransacked the car and stole my laptop and phone. My son had to blocked my wife’s phone. I saw the men, they were masked and armed. I had to go quickly to Ogba police station to report the incidence.”

When asked what the DPO told him, he replied he was still lodging his complaint but added that the story be giving wider publicity as it has been posted on the RCCG social media platforms.

According to the radio station, the DPO whom they called promised to beef up security in the area.
