Huge crowd of ardent supporters of People Democratic Party ,PDP, thronged the Jos headquarters of the party to welcome their governorship candidate from Abuja with a resolved to vote him ,Hon Caleb Mutfwang for Governor in 2023
The hundreds of supporters of the party who were from drawn across the 17 Local Government Areas of Plateau State received the governorship candidate of the party, on Friday at the Yakubu Gowon Airport Heipang on his returned from Abuja where he had gone to receive a Certificate of Return from the National Secretariat of the party.
Mutfwang, who addressed thousands of the PDP supporters at the residence of the leader of the PDP and former Governor of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah David Jang and at the State PDP Secretariat Jos respectively, reassured the people of his commitment and determination to provide enduring security, infrastructural development and human capital development for the prosperity of the people.
He noted that Plateau State must rise again as the PDP has been repositioned with vigour to take over power in 2023.
Mutfwang explained that the presentation of Certificate of Return to him by the National Secretariat of the party reaffirmed the process that led to his emergence as the party’s standard bearer.
He described the Certificate of Return as a license that permits the PDP and Plateau people to send out what he described as the failed APC administration out of the New Government House, Little Rayfield in 2023.
Addressing the seething crowd, he said; “We are adequately prepared as a party to go into the 2023 election as a united force. We will bring everybody who contested the party primary election on board with a view to forming a formidable team together with Plateau people for the prosperity of the state.
“We are indeed very grateful to Plateau people who have resolved to return PDP to power in 2023. I assure you that you will not regret your decision if you return PDP to power.”
Mutfwang encouraged youths who have no voter’s cards to go to the nearest INEC office and register to “vote out the failed APC government during the 2023 general elections.”
“PDP will return to power to continue with the infrastructural development of the Da Jonah Jang administration. We will bring peace and security; we will open up businesses to boost our economy for young men and women to become self reliance by the grace of God.
“I assure you that Plateau will rise again, Plateau will be prosperous again, Plateau will be great again, trust me and the PDP with your mandate and we will not disappoint you.”
Mutfwang assured that his running mate would be announced soon after consultation with various stakeholders to consolidate on his emergence which was under free and fair process, acceptable to all.
In his reaction, Sen. Jonah David Jang congratulated the party members for producing Mutfwang during the party primaries and described him as an intelligent, competent and credible young man who has the metal acumen and capacity to provide sound leadership in Plateau.
Jang who gave Mutfwang his fatherly blessing, urged Plateau people to get their PVCs and vote massively for PDP to advance development in the state.
He assured that Mutfwang will performed beyond expectations, as he is prepared to build on his enduring legacies.
