High Cost of Forms: Journalist, Other Youths Pick ADC Declaration Forms

A journalist with the Blueprint Newspaper joined three others on Wednesday to pick nomination forms for the race for the House of Representatives and Assembly seats on the platform of the African Democratic Party, ADC, in Plateau State.

Speaking to our medium after picking his nomination form, the journalist, Comrade Mohammed Tanko Shittu expressed satisfaction with the ADC for allowing  him to use their platform. He appeal to the general public to vote the ruling APC out of power and PDP for charging high fees “because they see themselves as the only alternatives.” Nomination forms are free for women and youths in ADC.

He urged INEC to conduct free and fair elections in Nigeria so that the electorate can vote in service oriented persons who can offer give selfless service to the people.

He frowned at situation whereby nomination forms of the two major parties are sold to the highest bidder without question to the source of their funds.

He said ,” today is significant to me in my political career as I have obtained the nomination form to contest for the State Assembly seat following my acceptance by the constituents to vie for seat of Jos North -North state constituency in the House of Assembly.

Shittu disclosed that as a journalist he would bring his experience to bear on lawmaking that would ensure that the constituency is more united and have access to top notch service delivery.

Others who also pick the forms of the ADC are Abdul’Azeez Mohammed Tubibi, who is aspiring for Jos North /Bassa Federal constituency and Khalid Ahmad, the aspirant for Pankshin ,Kanam and Kanke Federal constituency seat. Tubibi said he joined the race to consolidate on the achievement of the past leaders and promote the tenets of democracy.

He stressed that as a youth, he decided to join the ADC to bring about credible option to make a change in politics through offering leadership, adding that by charging high nomination fees, the two major parties have blocked the political chances of the youths in 2023 polls through their platforms.

Khalid Ahmad said ADC offered him the chance as a youth to put his dreams of helping his people to have a sense of belong and be part of governance.

He said going to vie for representation in the legislative armwould give him the opportunity to participate in the table of leadership .

Hon Daniel D.Nandak who also contesting for Mangu South constituency of the state assembly said he is so fulfilled seeing himself picking the nomination forms of a political party .

He said,  “I see it as a dream come true coming to pick a political party which can help me realise my ambition contest for member of Plateau state House of Assembly where I can make people oriented laws .
