Following the defection of a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon Ayuba Abok from the All Progressives Congress, APC to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday, the Speaker has declared the seat of the member vacant . Abok represent Jos East constituency in the state.
The declaration which was done during a plenary at the hallowed chamber of the House presided over by Speaker, Rt.Hon Yakubu Sanda .
The Speaker also declared the Rukuba/Irigwe constituency seat vacant following the former member Hon Musa Agah’s victory at the recent Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency bye- election, which Agah contested and won.
It could be recalled that the former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly Abok Nuhu Ayuba, last weekend defected from the APC to the PDP.
A statement signed by Itse Samuel Kaze, Media Assistant to Abok Nuhu Ayuba, reads that Ayuba, on March 18th, officially tended his letter of resignation from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), while presenting a letter of intent, seeking to return to his earlier party, the opposition PDP, at the party’s Local Government Secretariat in Angware, Jos East.
