Hopes of Sen. Uche Ekwunife to fly PDP’s flag in the November 6 governorship election in Anambra state has suffered another major setback as Chairmen of the party in the 21 LGAs of the state have severed relationship with her and her campaign.

The chairmen took the decision in a petition to the State Chairman of the Party, Sir Ndubuisi Nwobu, where they accused the female senator of incitement and plots to split the party before the June 26 primary election.

Seventeen of the 21 LG chairmen of the party who signed the petition accused Ekwunife of inciting and financially inducing Ward chairmen, with lies, to rise against their chairmen.

According to the petition, the LG chairmen accused Ekwunife of continued attempts to create disunity and discord in the party before the primary election.

They said her antics were unbecoming of a Senator who was expected to build rather than destroy.

The party chairmen said Ekwunife’s efforts to destabilise PDP in Anambra has become legendary flowing from her use of one KG Enemuo to attempt to sack the Nwobu Executive, through a court process, and impose a stooge.

The chairmen demanded that the PDP leadership in Anambra state calls Ekwunife to order and make her to retract her false accusations against them or face their wrath.

The 17 chairmen said they would severe every relationship with Ekwunife and her campaign if she fails to publicly retract her false accusations and mend her ways.

The petition is already receiving attention at the State Secretariat of the party and we gathered that the Senator faces an uphill task going into the June 26 primary election as majority of the statutory delegates may deserted her.

Several calls put to Senator Ekwunife’s phone failed to go through as it kept ringing engaged
