Rotimi Agboluaje, Ibadan

The lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Afeez Adeleke, has called on the state government to invest more in the existing institutions of higher learning in the state rather setting up the proposed Ibadan Technical University.

Adeleke who is the House Committee Chairman on Education stated this in an interview with journalists in Ibadan, the state capital.

It would be recalled that the Seventh Assembly had passed the law establishing the university.

The state Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, had disclosed that the university would take off September this year.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) legislator said the amendment bill was sent to the Assembly for more deliberations.

The lawmaker who said the school is based on private-public-partnership arrangement added that the lawmakers would like to know the partnership ratio.
