Late Prince Dennis Abuda
The apex socio cultural umbrella group of all Fugar people worldwide, Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector General of Police to unravel the killers of its illustrious son, Prince Dennis Abuda, a US based Nigerian, by suspected armed herdsmen.
Prince Abuda, who was the President of Fugar- American Foundation, an affiliate and partner of the FPU, was killed last Saturday, around Ahor village, along Benin bypass, on his way to Lagos to catch a return flight back to base after the Yuletide celebration in Fugar.
A statement by the FPU signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Mr Solomon Obomighie, also urged the United States government to intervene in the case by supporting all efforts in Nigeria to bring the perpetrators to book.
In the strongly worded statement, which condemned the gruesome murder of Prince Abuda, the group appealed to the Edo state government to continue working with relevant stakeholders to protect citizens of the state from incessant attacks by criminal elements.
The FPU, which described Prince Abuda as one of its finest, said he should not be allowed to die in vain.
” We, therefore, call on the Edo State government and Etsako Central Local Government, to immortalise Prince Dennis Abuda and most importantly use his death as an avenue to put an end to the security nightmare faced by residents and travellers across the state.”
The statement appeals for calm as the authorities are working round the clock to unearth the killers.
Prince Dennis Abuda, an insurance broker in Atlanta, Georgia, was abducted along with three others, and later found dead in the bush.
Already, five suspects have been arrested by the Police in connection with the heinous crime.
