Police Nab Traffic Robbers In Lagos

Nine suspected traffic robbers were on Friday nabbed by the police in Lagos.

Releasing this information on Friday, Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in Lagos, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the robbers who were arrested in New Year eve attempted to rob one Mr Adejare Adetayo and his wife in the traffic when Police detectives on an undercover operation in the area went after the hoodlums and arrested the nine with their operational weapons.

He said the suspects were arrested along the Y-junction, by Old Tollgate, Ketu, at about 8 pm by operatives attached to the Ketu Division.

SP Adejobi said knives and other dangerous weapons were recovered from the suspects.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, while commending the Police operatives for the successful operation and arrest of the hoodlums, reassured Lagosians of adequate security and public safety within the length and breadth of the state.

He, however, directed that the suspects be transferred to State CID, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation.

Adejobi gave the names of the robbers as; 19-year old Oluseyi Afolabi, 18-year-old Adeyemo Ayomide, 19-year-old Francis Latifa, 23-year-old Rilwan Raji, 20-year-old Ayomide Oyediran, 22-year-old Rasheed Ibrahim, 19-year-old Hamzat Abdullahi, 20-year-old Musa Gbadamosi and 32-year-old Seun Lasisi.
