Many Nigeria artistes have and fans have heaved a sigh of relief after Nigeria singer Omah Lay and Temi were set free on Tuesday by a Magistrate Court in Kampala. The duo had been arrested by the Ugandan authorities for staging an unauthourised show in Kampala, the country’s capital in violation of COVID-19 protocols.
The Koko master took to his his Twitter page on Tuesday, December 15, to share photo of the court papers setting them free in confirmation that the charges against the duo by the Ugandan authorities have been withdrawn and they would be back in Nigeria very soon.
Joined in the celebration are Singers Simi, Peter Okoye and Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission and Presidential aide, Abike Dabiri. In their tweets they express satisfaction that the voices of Nigerians calling for their release and the personal effort of Ugandan musician and Presidential aspirant Bobi Wine, paid off.
