An 18-year-old was among 43 people killed on Saturday by suspected militant Islamists on an agricultural field in Nigeria’s north-eastern Borno State.
Musfau was in school, but worked part-time on a farm to help his family earn an income.
His father, Mallam Musa, spoke to me about the family’s loss:
Suspected Boko Haram militants tied up people before using knives to slaughter them in an area near Maiduguri, the state capital.
President Muhammadu Buhari described the attack as “insane”.
A total of 43 victims were buried on Saturday.
