Few days to its Confederation Cup opener with Senegalese side, ASC Jaraaf, in Dakar, Kano Pillars FC has been boosted by Kano state Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The governor has approved the appointment of members of Kano Pillars football club continental committee to oversee the successful outcome of the team at the 2020/21 CAF tournament. Mr Idris Malikawa, the Media Officer of the club, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Kano.
Kano Pillars, alongside Plateau United, Enyimba and Rivers United will be the four clubs to represent Nigeria in the 2020/2021 CAF competitions following the voting by the 17 Chairmen of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clubs.
Kano Pillars will play its first leg of the tournament against AS Jaraaf FC of Senegal on Nov. 29, at Stade Demba Diop, Dakar.
According to Malikawa, the governor also charged the committee members to use their experiences in discharging the mandate given to them.
The committee has the state Deputy Governor Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima Vice Chairman while Chairman Kano Pillars fc, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Jambul,Alhaji Habibu Dukawa, state commissioner of youths and sports Comrade Kabiru Ado Lakwaya as well as Chairman committee on Sports in the state Assembly Alhaji Nura Alassan Rano as Members.
Other members of the committee are Hajiya Surayya Aminu Sai Mama, Special Adviser and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on sports Matters Alhaji Kabiru Baita and Alhaji Ibrahim Mu’azzam Marafa while chairman Kano state football Association Alhaji Sharif Rabi’u Inuwa Ahlan to served as Co-ordinator.
And Permanent Secretary in the state ministry of youths and sports and Secretary Kano pillars Fc Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Sagagi and Sayyadi Abdullahi will run the affairs of the committee Secretariat.
The committee is responsible for over seen how Sai masu gida would play 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup.
