Counsel to the removed Chairman of Quaanpan Local Government Council of Plateau State,Barr Solomon Umoh, SAN, has raised the alarm over threat to life and constant harassment of his client , and former Chairman of the LGA, Hon Isaac Kwallu by the Ag Chairman, the legislative arm over the council’s vehicles they claim are in his possession.
Umoh appealed to Hon Justice Nafisatu Mohammed to intervene and stop the chairman including the legislative arm who invaded the residence of his client with security personnel to demand for the return all properties and belongings they claimed was in his possession.
He said during hearing; “We regret to orally complaint officially before you, My Lord, that sometimes last week a letter was written on behalf of the 4th defendant even when the matter is still pending in court to engage security personnel to invade Hon Kwallu home and attack members of his household, ” an action he said was unlawful and capable of affecting and determining the conclusion of the case .
Umoh expressed concern that the 4th defendant action has already predicated the final judgment in court by so doing
He urged the court to place an interim injunction order to stop the council chairman and his co-host to respect the right of complainant pending the determination of the suit .
Counsel to the 1st ,2nd ,3rd ,26th and 30th defendants, Barr .J.I. Mwantu in a motion on notice sought the order of the court to grant him the prayers to better affidavit in the interest of justice .
Umoh, SAN, did not object to the motion.
Justice Nafisatu Mohammed ruled on the two motions on notice before the court by granting them time to regularize the affidavit on amended charge of August, 2020.
The case was adjourned to November 5, 2020 for continuation of hearing on the mandatory injunction including others pending motions
