Kalu Empowers 550 Constituents In Isuikwuato

Senate Chief Whip, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has empowered 350 and 200 indigent and vulnerable youths and women in Isuikwuato local government area with either a motorcycle or sewing machines each.

The senator representing Abia North Senatorial District at the National Assembly had earlier distributed 400 and 150 motorcycles and generators sets the similar people in Umunneochi local government area.

Speaking at the occasion at Mbala, the headquarters of the area, the onetime governor of Abia state said the gesture was part of his electioneering promises to empower the constituents.

Explaining that the gesture will soon be extended to Arochukwu, Bende, and Ohafia local government areas, he appealed to the beneficiaries to use them as stepping stones to greatness.

The executive secretary, Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, and founder OUK Movement Worldwide, the Rev. Jemima Ola Kalu, in her opening remarks, commended the senator for the intervention.

According to Hon Nkeiruja Onyejeocha, the member representing Umunneochi/Isuikwuato Federal Constituency and the deputy whip of the House of Representatives Kalu means wells for his constituency.

Among others who lauded Kalu for the intervention were a former executive chairman of Arochukwu local government area, Mazi Chibuike Jonas and the state chairman of OUK Movement, Engr, Agu Ndukwe Orji.

Comrade Uche Emmanuel, who responded on behalf of other beneficiaries, expressed their appreciation to the governor for the gesture, assuring that the items will be put to proper and beneficial uses.
