The Nigeria Air Force has honored Late Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile by immortalizing her name on the newly renovated Pilots ‘Crew Room’ at the 115 Special Operations Group in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The Director, Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, who made this known in a statement released to newsmen on Tuesday said the facility was provided to ensure a conducive environment that would enable pilots execute assigned missions excellently.
Speaking at the event, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, said asides honoring the memory of the First Combat Helicopter Pilot, who died 14th July, 2020, she was a useful asset to the Nigerian Air Force, the aim was to inspire young girls to study, work hard and pursue their dreams with pride and honor.
Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar while noting that immortalizing Late Flying Officer Arotile was to project NAF policy thrust commitment that assures personnel’s that their sacrifices would never be in vain and that their sacrifices are forever fresh in the minds of NAF and Nigeria as well, commended 115 SOG for playing a significant role in the NAF’s efforts at tackling insecurity in different parts of the country.
The event had in attendance Branch Chiefs and Directors from the NAF Headquarters, General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army, Flight Lieutenant Blessing Liman, First Female to be winged as a Pilot in NAF and other senior Military Officers.
