UK PM, Boris Johnson
Mr Dominic Raab, Foreign Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister has been nominated to act in place of Prime Minister Boris Johnson who has been moved to intensive care unit with coronavirus. He chaired Coronavirus cabinet meeting on Monday morning, a meeting that ordinarily would have been chaired by Johnson.
Johnson who had been working from home after disclosing he had contracted the virus ten days ago had to be moved when he developed complications usually associated with people in his age bracket. He is 55 years old. He was said to be speaking at the parliamentary lobby yesterday when he suddenly had to leave and his doctors had to move him to the ICU. Reports say his situation had declined and he may have to use a ventilator. His movement to the ICU is said to be a precautionary measure.
