Cease Fire: Gov Fayemi Visits Alaafin of Oyo Over Ekiti Chieftaincy Crisis

The raging Ekiti Chieftaincy crisis fuelled by a Thursday query Ekiti State government fired the Ewi of Ado-Eki,Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III and 10 others for alleged insubordination, forcing the Alaafin of Oyo, HRM, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi IIIto intervene through a letter to Governor Kayode Fayemi, asking him to treat softly, was almost getting out of hand, threatening to engulf Ekiti and Oyo state government, when some aggrieved Obas in Ekiti wrote a letter to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo, urging him to stop the Alaafin from “meddling in the internal chieftaincy affairs”, of their state.

In a swift diplomatic move, Gov Fayemi took matters in his hand and paid a scheduled visit to the revered Yoruba first class monarch, Alaafin of Oyo in his palace to explain things himself and calm frayed nerves. Thisage did an extensive story to it on its March 12 edition.
