Kogi To Build Befitting Palace For Obaro Stool

The Kogi state government has concluded plan to build a befitting palace for the Stool of the Obaro of Kabba in the Western Senatorial District of the state.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Momodu Ozigi disclosed this when he paid an official visit to the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi in his palace at Kabba over the weekend.

Ozigi said Governor Bello is a man of his word assuring that he would use the limited resources of the state to actualize the laudable project.

The Commissioner said establishing an independent palace for the current Obaro and succeeding ones in the future is long over due adding that since the governor has high regard for traditional institutions he would do his best to build the palace.

Ozigi also appreciated the ordiliness he observed in the Obaro’s palace during the visit noting that such gesture would be replicated in the palaces of other traditional rulers in the state.

He assured the paramount ruler of his preparedness to synergy with the traditional rulers to ensure peace in the state.

In his remarks, the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Dele Owonoyi thanked the commissioner and his entourage for the visit and appealed to the state government to upgrade and fill the existing vacuum in some stools in the area.

Oba Owoniyi praised the governor for correcting the past injustices in the appointments of traditional rulers in Okun and assured him of his people’s support at all times.

At the Maigari of Lokoja palace, the commissioner lauded the Maigari, Alhaji Muhammad Maikarfi the III for maintaining peace in his domain.

Ozigi called on the royal father to synergy with the ministry to consolidate on the existing peace in the state.

In his response the Maigari of Lokoja,Alhaji Muhammad Maikarfi III appreciated the commissioner for the visit with a call on politicians to have the fear of Allah in the discharge of their duties to humanity.

The paramount ruler prayed for the success of the administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello and that of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftiancy Affairs.

At the palace of the Ohimege Igu of Kotokarfe, the commissioner applauded the unprecedented peace existing in the domain saying that his visit is to seek for his blessing and prayers for him to succeed in office.

The commissioner said Koto people are hospitable wherever they find themselves urging them to sustain the spirit.

In his response, the Ohimege Igu Kotokarfe said Kogi indigines have tribal connections which bind them as one urging the people of the state to see themselves as one for the purpose of developing the state together.
