Governors Fintiri and Ortom of Adamawa and Benue States respectively
The Supreme Court has affirmed the decision of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, and the judgement of the Appeal Court, which upheld the election of Samuel Ortom as Governor of Benue State as well as that of his Adamawa counterpart, Ahmadu Fintiri.
The seven man panel of justices led by Justice Bode Rhodes Vivour, dismissed the appeal of Mr Emmanuel Jime of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as lacking in merit. The same Justice Vivour dismissed an appeal by Jibrilla Bindo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the last governorship election and former governor of the state, against Finitiri, for lacking in merit.
