The World Bank in collaboration with Kogi government through the state Community and Social Development Agency (KSCSDA) is spending over N500 million on 38 community projects across the state.
Mallam Momoh Dauda, General Manager the Agency disclosed this while flagging-off the construction of a Skills Acquisition Centre and Borehole for group of People Living With Disabilities (PLWD) in Eganyi, Ajaokuta Local Government on over the weekend.
Dauda who was represented by Mr Oladipo Bayode, Acting Manager, Operations, “This intervention provides you the opportunity to acquire skills in weaving, tailoring, hairdressing among others to help, assist and to empower you the more.”
He said that the World Bank in collaboration with Kogi government through the CSDA was spending over N500 million on 38 community projects across the state.
“The World Bank is pending N500 million on community projects in Kogi State. We have nine vulnerable groups and 29 communities through the CSDP intervention”, he added and called on the end-users to sustain the projects.He asked the benefiting group to manage the project funds properly and guard against misappropriation, follow laid down rules and be committed to the successful execution with proper book keeping.

Miss Mopinre Akinola, Project Officer, Gender and Vulnerable Group with CSDA presented a cheque of N1.45 million being first stranch of N5,090.78 for the Skills Acquisition Centre, to the Group Project Monitoring Committee (GPMC) chairman, Umar Salihu.
In his vote of thanks, secretary of the group, Mr Barnabas Ahmed expressed gratitude to God and the agency saying that they hoped to complete the skills acquisition centre in time to start the borehole project.
Hajia Barikisu Musa Aka’aba, Gender Officer, Ajaokuta Local Government commended the agency for various interventions in the council area and promised to ensure proper monitoring of the project.
