EPL leader Liverpool woke from an initial shock at Anfield after visiting Newcastle took the lead with an 8th min goal from a weak right shot by left- footed Willems and began showing result for its 80per cent ball possession in the 29th min. It was Sade Mane with a brace and in the 29th and 40th mins. By the time Mo Sallah fired home the third in the 72nd min, through a Robert Fimino set up, the game was all over for Newcastle. Liverpool remains on top the table with a 15 points lead, followed by Champions Man City with a 10 point lead and possibly 13 points if they win their match against Norwich at 3:pm

Referee Andre Marriner ruled out a 27th min penalty appeal by Joel Matip who thought he was held back by Jamaal Lascelles when another Liverpool cross came in from the left went to VAR for a review. With the win, Liverpool has a 100 per cent record, with all wins so far.

A brace from Karim Benema in the 25th and 35th min and a third by Casemiro in the 40th min, all in the first half, proved to be timely as Levante kept the pressure on the second half until the blast of the last whistle.
