Kwande Commends Buhari for Honouring MKO, Seeks Repair of Abuja Stadium

A former member of the House of Representatives, Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for encouraging sports development in Nigeria

Kwande who is a Board Member, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) stated that apart from declaring June 12 as ‘Democracy Day’ and renaming the Abuja National Stadium after Chief MKO Abiola, the president should complimented his gesture by ordering that repairs be carried out on the stadium

In a statement he issued in Abuja, he called on the President to order the carrying out of repairs of the stadium: “The Abuja now (MKO Abiola) stadium has not been considered for any sporting activities for sometimes now. I am urging the president to immediately repair it so that sporting activities can immediately resumes.”

He said the new development would bring more dynamism to our democratic system and boost sporting activities at grassroots in the country.
