The Nigeria Police Force, Oyo state Command on Wednesday confirmed the reported kidnap on Tuesday of Mr Dayo Adewole, son of former Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole,
National newspapers on Tuesday reported Dayo’s abduction by yet to be identified gunmen at dusk on his farm in Iroko, Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State.
SP Olugbega Fadeyi, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the state Command, in Ibadan, said the police got the information that four armed men went to the farm to kidnap the young man and the police team led by Area Commander, Moniya, immediately swung into action and gave the kidnappers a hot which led to the recovery of an abandoned vehicle belonging to the gunmen, in the bush
He said the police have launched a manhunt for the rescue of the victim and expressed hope that “the young man would be rescued by the anti-kidnapping squad, police patrol men among others who have been deployed”
