The People Democratic Party, PDP and its governorship candidate in Plateau State has approached the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos with the motion of Ex-parte No. 001/2019, dated 2nd April, 2019, to challenged the irregularities in the March, 9 and 23rd, 2019 election, seeking the order of the tribunal to set aside election of Governor Simon Bako Lalong of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
The suit has the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Governor Simon Bako Lalong and the All Progressive Congress, APC, as respondents.
According to his lawyers, the motion of exparte should “grant leave to the applicants to file and move this application outside the pre-hearing session of this honourable tribunal. Upon the grant of prayer (1) above
- AN ORDER OF THE TRIBUNAL granting leave to the Applicants to apply for inspection of documents before the pre-hearing session as sought in prayer No. 3 below.
3 LEAVE AND ORDER OF THE TRIBUNAL permitting the Applicants, their Counsel or their agents to inspect and make copies of all polling documents relating or pertaining to the 9th March, 2019 and 23rd March ,2019, Plateau State Governorship election in the custody the Ist Respondent as itemized in Paragraph 3.1 to 3.18 below:

3.9 Form EC 8A (statement of results of poll from polling units ); 3.10 Forms EC 8B (summary of results for the state ); 3.11 Form EC8C (Summary of Results for Local Government Areas)
3.12 F ECBD (Summary of Results for the State); 3.13 Form EC8E (summary/Declaration of Results for the Candidates); 3.14 List of all serial numbers of Electoral Forms and Ballot
Papers distributed and/or purportedly distributed to each of the polling units in Plateau State
3.15 Register voters used and/or purportedly used in each of the polling units in Plateau State
3.16 Certified True Copy of the data/information contained in the Card Readers used at all the polling units in the state with a certificate duly subscribed giving the particulars of the card readers used at the election conducted into the office of the Governor of Plateau state state on 9th March, 2019.
The election tribunal chairman, Hon Justice H.A Salesman will soon commence sitting on ex-parte application.
