In its bid to ensure that citizens turn out in their large numbers to exercise their franchise during the rescheduled elections on Saturday, without the fear of being killed, intimidated and harassed, the Kogi state Command of the Nigeria Police Force, has given an assurance to adequately protect the lives of the electorates.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Williams Aya and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Thursday.
The Kogi State Police Command hinted of the elaborate security arrangement adopted in synergy with other security agencies in the State to ensure peaceful conduct of the rescheduled 2019 General Elections in the State.
In view of this, accordiing to the statement, “any one found engaging in an acts capable of disrupting the electoral process will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law”
The Command therefore warned all those in possession of firearms to surrender their arms to the nearest police station or hand over them to their traditional rulers as the Police was determined to deal decisively with any miscreants.
