The Nigerian Police have arrested the mastermind behind the 2015 Abuja bombings and seven other accomplices. He is Umar Abdulmalik.
Abdulmalik and his gang were responsible for robbery, kidnaping, jailbreak and killings of policemen in several locations in the country, according to the police.
Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, Jimoh Moshood said the gang were arrested by the Inspector General of Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad FSARS, led by ASP Abba Kyari in Abaji in the FCT, Abuja, where they were receiving treatment for gunshot wounds.
He said the FSAR has been on the trail of the gang responsible for the Nyayan, near Abuja and Kuje bombings in 2015, the killing of a police officer in Abuja in June and another one last month, the jailbreak in Kuje Prison, Minna, Niger State, in June and several robberies and kidnappings in Kogi and Edo states.
