Suspended National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, Executive Secretary, Professor Usamn Yusuf, was few minutes ago, led into his Abuja office by armed policemen.
Yusuf who was suspended by the Dr Ifene led governing council of the organization following persistent workers protest workers over what they perceived as his high handedness and alleged corrupt practices, made good his boost to come to work on Monday, stating that he is answerable to President Muhammadu Buhari only.
Workers who had gathered to stop his forceful resumption were dispersed by police who used tear-gas on them.
Following an investigation committee he set up sometimes ago to verify the workers allegations, Health Minister, Dr Isaac Adewale, sent Yusuf on indefinite suspension, but he was overruled by Buhari and reinstated. Only last week, the governing council, responding to the workers demands, again sent him away.
