Brigadier-General Enang Essien (Rtd), a member of Christ Universal School of Spiritual and Practical Christianity, has said that the leader and founder of the school, Olumba Olumba Obu is the spiritual head of the world.
According to him “Ours is a God we can see and touch. He is not an abstract God as obtained among members of other faiths” adding that the school is neither a sect, movement, order nor church.
Essien stated this while speaking to newsmen ahead of the school’s preparations for the centenary elebration of the birth of the founder in Calabar, Cross River capital on 30th December 2018 at its Bethel in Umuahia, the Abia state capital.
He said, “He manifested first as Christ over 2000 years ago. After his crucification to atone for the sins of the world, he ascended to heaven to manifest again in the founder.
“The general, who is also referred to as ambassador of Christ invited those in doubt of the claim ” to come closer to quench their thirst about the leader and not to join the bandwagon of those disputing it.”
According to him, he was not surprised and bothered that many are in doubt of the claim, saying “whether they believe it or not, the founder and sustainer of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is the spiritual head of the universe.”
He said, “We are not surprised when Olumba Olumba Obu is misrepresented. If people don’t understand his mission and person, we are not surprised because Christ Himself was misunderstood by His own people”
The one-star general explained that the mission of Obu, whom he made reference to several scriptures in the Bible to back the assertion about him is to restore man to the state he was in the garden of Eden.
According to the ambassador, who explained that the school was established on August 8, 1958, the world could be changed through it’s teachings which emphasizes the brotherhood of mankind irrespective of race or religions.
He said part of the preparations includes both nation-wide and international tours “to tell the world that the kingdom of God which Jesus Christ mentioned in the Lord’s prayer arrived 100 years ago with the birth of our leader.”
“The only name God has put power in is that of Olumba Olumba Obu after that of Jesus Christ. He alone practices who he preaches,” he said, adding that already, the world is undergoing perfection through the teachings.”
