Nnaya Eziyi, Umuahia
Former House of Representatives member, Hon Acho Obioma has said that former president Olusegun Obasanjo ought not critize President Muhammadu Buhari, except if he was re-engineering himself.
Obioma spoke to our correspondent during the just concluded caucus/extended executive meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abia state chapter in Umuahia, the capital.
He said having lost his bid to control every administration that had come after his, the former President on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had never seen anything good in their policies and programmes.
According to Obioma, who represented Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal constituency from 1999 to 2003, on the platform of the PDP, Obasanjo has lost his political relevance and should retire honourably.
Defending Buhari, he said he never promised Nigerians that he would fixed the challenges facing the country overnight. He added that the president had performed creditably.
He noted with delight the on-going rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt – Enugu Expressway and other federal roads in the South East, adding that before now there has been deathtraps.
Ahead of the 2019 election, the former federal lawmaker, who is reported to have his eyes on Abia Central Senatorial district seat, predicted victory for the APC in the state at all levels.
He likened the crisis brewing in the chapter as a development that is common to a large family, revealing that efforts were on by the stakeholders to settle it amicably soon.
