Senator Orji, in red cap, flags-off the project
Former Abia State governor, Senator Theodore Orji has flagged-off a N250m five-kilometre rural ring road project in Umuariagha Oboro in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State.
This was just as the senator representing Abia Central Senatorial district in the Senate has promised to build five water boreholes in the community between now and December.
Orji stated this during the official flagging-off ceremony of the road, pledging to build a health centre in the community if they voted for him during the 2019 general election.
In appreciation for their support, the former governor also promised to build five water boreholes in the community before December, insisting that the contractors must come from there.
He used the forum to solicit support for Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in the state in the election to continue with its manifesto.
Similarly, the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Sam Onuigbo, stressed the importance of the road to the people.
In his reaction, their counterpart for Ikwuano State Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon Theophilus Ugboajah, appreciated Orji for attracting the project.
In her address of welcome, the Chairman of Ikwuano Local Government Council, Ezinne Ngozi Orji, said when completed the road would boast economic activities in the area.
