The Head, Chinedum Orji Campaign Office, Barrister Suleman Ukandu has said that Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Senator Theodore Orji, and Hon Chinedum Orji are set for re-election victories in 2019.

Orji Snr, the former governor of the state and Orji Jnr, represent Abia Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly and Umuahia Central State Constituency in the state Assembly respectively.

Ukandu stated this when leaders of Grassroot Democratic Alliance Initiative (GDAI) visited the office in Umuahia, the state capital to announce their endorsement for the three as their candidates for the elections.

He said the manner in which their respective constituents had been endorsing them for the elections even as they were less than three years in office were testimonies that they had performed well.

According to him, much as almost the entire constituents had shown interests in reelecting them based on what they had achieved, more were still needed to be done.

“This project goes beyond adoptions and endorsements. We have to arm ourselves for the battle by acquiring our Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to enable us vote in the elections,” he argued.

The one-time transition committee chairman, Umuahia North Local Government council said one of the most encouraging aspects of the endorsements is that youths were highly involved in it.

“We are however not surprised by this because one of them, Orji, Jr, the majority leader of the House is himself a youth who has touched the live of the constituency positively,” he added.

Similarly, a coordinator in the office, Prince Maduka Uwadi, said with the enthusiasm the constituents had shown to ensure victories for them, their elections were already concluded.

Uwadi, who was appointed as an ambassador of the GDAI during the occasion appealed to them to expand the scope of their membership to include every strata of the society.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the GDAI, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwu reiterated their commitment to ensure victories for the three based on their impacts on the constituencies.

According to the chairman, who maintained that their membership caught across the entire state, they came to the resolution during their inaugural meeting early in the month.
