Benue State which recently gave mass burial to 73 citizens of its citizens killed by herdsmen, Wednesday witnessed another round of killing in three of its local governments, namely Okpokwu, Logo and Guma. Two women were said to have been killed by suspected herdsmen in Guma, two others in Logo and two others in Okpokwu.

Governor Samuel Ortom disclosed this information when he hosted leaders of Southern and Middle Belt Forum at the Government House in Makurdi, the state capital.
He told in his visitors who had come to condole with him on the recent incident: “As we speak, despite the deployment of more security personnel to the state to check the killings, four persons where yesterday killed in Guma and Logo local government areas. “Aside that, pockets of killings are still going on, that is why I am reiterating my call on security agents to arrest the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore who had issued threats to resisting implementation of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law in the state.”
He expressed surprise that despite the presence of the Inspector General Police and 663 armed mobile policemen deployed to the state, killings are still been perpetrated without the arrest of the attackers.
Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent, ASP, Moses Yamu confirmed the information. He said that the bodies of two women were recovered by the road side in Guma, while one person was also killed in Okpokwu with another person was reported missing. He said was yet to be briefed about the killings in Logo.
