Maulud: Speaker Calls For Peaceful Coexistence In Nigeria

The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole has called on the Muslim Faithfuls to eschew violence and work for sustainable peace as panacea for the development of the Country and humanity.

This was contained in the Maulud  Celebration message by the speaker and signed by his Chief Press Secretary , Femi Olugbemi which was made available to Journalists in Lokoja on Thursday.

The speaker who  enjoined Nigerians to intensify prayers to surmount  the plethora of challenges facing Nigeria, advised Muslims to use this occasion for sober reflection for the expungement of those things that negates the growth of the Country.

According to him” Through intensified prayers, abiding faith in God and commitment to the core values of the nation’s founding fathers that the country’s efforts at sustaining peace, unity and progress will be fully actualized.

He called on Kogians to continue to pray and support the New Direction Administration led by Governor Yahaya Bello’s efforts to keep the state safe for the good of all, noting that the Assembly will continue to work with relevant stakeholders to make laws that will promote good governance in the state.

The Speaker noted that the Islamic event was timely and remarkable as it will go a long way in reinvigorating the virtues of peaceful co-existence, unity, faith, sacrifice, obedience, love, tolerance and charity as exemplified by the deeds and teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad.

The Speaker therefore on behalf of his family, Kabba/Bunu State Constituency, entire members of the 7th Assembly, management and staff of the Kogi State House of Assembly wished all Nigerians a peaceful and pleasant celebration and enjoined the youth to embrace peace and avoid any act that could undermine the unity and security of the country.
