2027: Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency Aspirant Promises Purposeful Representation

Gov Ahmed Ododo’s aide, Dr Suberu Yusuf, has declared his interest to contest for the Adavi/Okehi Federal seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2027 with a promise to ensure purposeful representation.

Yusuf, who is the Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to the Kogi Governor on Road Safety Matters, made his official declaration at Ege in Adavi Local Government Area of the state.

The politician cum Philanthropist unveiled his pre-election initiatives, and awarded scholarships to 40 students, distributed food items to 1,500 indigents, and empowered over 100 individuals with funds and Phones

He said that his desire to contest for the federal seat was to give the constituents a purposeful representation and leadership toward turning around the constituency’s sicio- economic climate.

“My declaration today is a confession, and a cry from the heart of a son who deeply loves his people and can no longer remain silent while his land suffers.

“I’m aware of the challenges facing Adavi/Okehi federal constituency, which include poor road networks, lack of water, insecurity, and inadequate education for our teaming youths amongst others.

“I strong hope to pursue employment opportunities, training programmes, and entrepreneurship support for young people, as well as empowerment programmes for the women.

“By God’s grace, I sincerely hope to

prioritize these issues if elected in the forthcoming 2027 generalelection., ” he pledged.

Yusuf, however, commended President Bola Tinubu and Gov Ododo for their untiring efforts in tackling insecurity in Kogi and the nation at large.

He commended President Tinubu for his bold step at supporting the establishment of state Police as part of measures toward tackling insecurity in the country.

“I strongly support the president’s on the on issue of state Police, which I believe will go along in tackling insecurity in Kogi and Nigeria as a whole, ” he said.

In his opening speech, Hon. Yusuf Ohiare, Special Adviser to Gov. Ododo on Electronic Media, described Yusuf’s declaration of interest as a “moment of renewed hope” for Adavi/Okehi constituents

Ohiere said, “Today marks the birth of a new voice; a voice of service, empowerment, and renewed hope for our people.

“I sincerely appreciate and commend our distinguished leader,

Hon. Suberu Yusuf-John, for the remarkable work he has been doing across our communities.

“Your unwavering commitment to empowerment programs, your generous scholarship initiatives for students, and your continuous support to orphans and the less privileged have brought relief, dignity, and renewed hope to many families.

“You have clearly demonstrated that true leadership is not merely about holding office, but about impacting lives and uplifting communities.

“Many of our youths have been positively transformed through your empowerment initiatives. Numerous students who once faced uncertainty in their educational pursuits can now continue with confidence because of your scholarship programs.

“Most importantly, you have extended compassion to the most vulnerable among us: the orphans and the less privileged, restoring their sense of belonging and giving them hope for a brighter future.

“For these noble contributions, the people of Ege-Iruvochinomi Ward and Adavi Local Government remain deeply grateful.

Speaking on behalf of Ege-Iruvochinomi Ward, Hon. Fatimat Abdulmalik, the immediate past Council Leader of Adavi Local Government, expressed gratitude to Yusuf for his contributions to the community.

Abdulmalik cited his empowerment programmes, scholarship initiatives, and support for orphans and the less privileged as very heart warming and commendable

Nevertheless, the highlights of the event was Suberu’s official declaration for House of Rep seat for Adavi/Okehi federal constituency, offering of prayers and distribution of pre-election initiatives, including awarding scholarships to students, distributing food items, cash and phones to some beneficiaries
