2023: Labour Party in Fresh Crisis As Pub Secretary Accuses Chairman Abure of Fraud

National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi has written a petition against the National Chairman of the party, Julius Abure, accusing him of fraud.

In the petition dated December 8, 2022, and titled, Petition Against the National Chairman, Bar Julius Abure for Fraudulent Activities and Obtaining Money Under False Pretence, which was written by his lawyers Kaiser Oghenetejire & Co and addressed to the Deputy National Chairman  Arabambi alleged that Abure had on different occasion defrauded aspirants and candidates on the platform of the party and called on the party to investigate the allegations.

Citing the case of one George Gabriel Chiadikaobi, candidate for Lagos West Senatorial seat who paid N2 million into the party’s account in Lagos and another N2 million into Abure business account in August, 2022 and another House of Representative candidate in Lagos, Umeadi Emmanuel Azubike, who paid N3 million and N1 million on July 6, 2022, Arabambi allege that ” N27 million has been paid to Julius Abure by other members of the party including Joseph Ndirang and other that will form the witnesses against him.”

He prayed on the party to prevent the part from imploding by moving speedily to investigate the allegations.
