Ahead of the 2019 general elections in Nigeria, the Kogi state All Progressive Congress (APC) has flagged off its campaign in the three Senatorial Districts of the state with assurance that President Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates of the party would win overwhelmingly.
The party kick started the campaign with the zonal rallies, which were held simultaneously at Anyigba, Okene and Kabba over the weekend thereby setting the tone for the next year’s general elections in Nigeria.
The Director-General of President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation in Kogi state, Hon Edward Onoja while addressing the unprecedented crowd of the Eastern flank that converged at the Kogi State University Stadium, Anyigba, for the rally, affirmed that President Buhari will emerge victorious in the next year’s Presidential election describing the contest as that between the progress and the retrogression.
He noted that the President Buhari has redeemed his promise in 2015 to tackle the widespread corruption and nepotism, created by the defeated PDP led administration and urged the people of Kogi East and the State to reject them and all their candidates. .
The DG also lauded the efforts of the party’s senatorial candidate, Alhaji Jibrin Isah Echocho, who he described as a real humanitarian that has passion for his faith and love for humanity.
The Chief of Staff stated that Echcho used his office as a senior staff in the banking sector to empower several youths across Kogi East and beyond, hence the decision to give him the opportunity to represent the people in the Senate and bring to an end the horror Kogi East is being served currently at the National Assembly.
