As move for the replacement of Attah Igala lingers, the Igala Youth Counci( IYC), has urged those saddled with the responsibility of selection of the next Attah to speed up the process and ensure that adherence to all procedures as gazetted are followed.
The call was contained in a Communique issued at the end of the emergency meeting of the Igala Youth Council held at Idah, the traditional seat of the Igala Kingdom on Sunday.
The Communique which was made available to journalists in Lokoja on Monday by the Publicity Secretary of the Council, Michael Achor Joshua also appealed to the committee responsible for the petition against the kingmakers to ensure equity and fairness in handling the matter and make sure that they have substantial evidences to support the claims of the petitioners which must as a matter of urgency be made public.
The IYC resolved that, in the absence of any evidences against the recommendations of the Etemahi and members of the kingmakers, the appropriate quarters should be allowed to work without hindrance
According to the Communique, the IYC prayed that anybody that try to jeopardize the process for political and selfish gains must be visited with the wrath of the ancestors.
The communique disclosed that the IYC will embark on the process of remodelling, reconstruction and beautification of the Palace of the Attah Igala to a world class status such that every Igala Sons and Daughters will be proud of.
It indicated that in view of the above, the IYC is ready to collaborate with other socio cultural associations of the Igala Kingdom to mobilize funding for the project by creating a platform where all well meaningful citizens of the kingdom will contribute to the success of the project.
Furtherance to achieving this great feat, the Council stated that a committee be set up by the National President to analyze and give recommendation(s).
Various committees the Communique stated were set up to ensure a well organized Igala Youth Celebration scheduled for August, 2021, the Committees has all NEC members/Local Chapters Coordinators as automatic members.
