Tribunal Chairman Threatens To Detain APC ‘s Chairman’s Aide

Barr. JK Binjin, Chairman of the Plateau Local Government Election Tribunal sitting in a petitioned filed by Ubandoma Joshua Laven of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP , against Kparnim Nanloh Amos of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has threatened to lock up some APC leaders for contempt of court as they are trying to influence witnesses inside the tribunal at the its sitting on Thursday in Jos, the state capital.

He warned one Lasin who operated freely communicating with the witness while the proceedings was going on and so distracting everyone.

According to him, the tribunal observe that the constant communication between the Chairman’s aide and the witness is gradually delaying the court proceedings.

The first respondent witness on Thursday Mr Timjul Laven Sambo told the tribunal that he had two voters card, one read Timjul Sambo and the second, Timjul Laven Sambo , both of which he used them to cast his vote in Bapkwai Pyeche polling units respectively on the same day he was the returning agent of his party.

Defence lawyer, Niri Daro sort to find out whether Nimjul knew the code of Pyeche unit and he answered no but confirmed to the tribunal that APC scored 325 votes cast .

During cross examination it was also discovered that in most of the PLASIEC forms used there are no serial numbers in the documents and no figures or a word on the opposition party, the PDP, yet the results sheet are signed by the APC agents.
