Osinbajo Tasks IGP Over Kidnapped Germans

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has directed the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to get cracking and rescue two German archaeologists, Prof. Peter Breunig and Mr Johannes Behringer who were kidnapped during the week in Kadarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In response, IGP Idris has dispatched a team of Special Police Forces and Police Investigators to collaborate with the police command in State and indigenes of towns and surrounding villages where the archaeologists were kidnapped.

The Intelligence Response Team (IRT), the Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU), the Anti Kidnapping Unit, the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), the Police Mobile Force, Police Surveillance Helicopters and the Special Investigation Team on Kidnapping and Terrorism Cases have since set about implementing the presidential directive.

Breunig and Behringer are in the country to work with National Commission for Museum and Monument on the relics of NOK Culture in Nigeria.
