Veterinary Medicine and Clinical Virology Professor , Maduike Ezeibe of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), claims that he has found a cure for Acquired Immunized Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

Maduike stated this while speaking to newsmen on “How I came about the cure for HIV/AIDS” in his office at the University, adding that he had spent over N5m into researching the product with successful clinical trials.

He said for the clinical trials of the drug, Medicinal Synthetic Aluminum Magnesium Silicte, (MSAMS) 10 patients, who volunteered were made to apply through their medical doctor to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, arguing that after a period of time the treatment read negative to the virus.

“All the 10 patients have become HIV-negative. The three men of the 10 patients tested HIV-negative after eight months. Two of the seven women tested HIV-negative after nine months, while the remaining five women recovered after 10 months.” he said.

He said apart from the organizes clinical trial, well over 500 Nigerians and foreigners had benefited from the drug, “A couple in Abuja as at today have their viral load brought down to only 21 and 20. That means in the next one month they too would become HIV-negative”

According to Maduike, who claims that there has been evidence that the drug could be used for treatment of cancer, all the treatment so far had been free, “I need support to continue because many people are coming daily.”

The professor, who said already, he had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a US-based scientific research organization to publish his findings, added that the country stands a lot to gain from his discovery.

He said one good thing about the drug is that its components are locally sourced, noting that if commercialized; it would become an alternative for petroleum for the economy of the country as a foreign exchange earner.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Frances Otunta, while addressing newsmen in his office recently, commended Madubike for his efforts, assuring him of the University’s support.
