Osita Okechukwu, Director General of Voice of Nigeria, VON, has a accused National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole of complicity in the crisis plaguing the party following the rancorous party primaries that has pitted him against and some governors and elected lawmakers.
Addressing journalists in Abuja over the crisis-ridden congresses and primaries, Okechukwu who alleged been schemed out of contest for a senatorial seat in Enugu called on Oshiomhole to resign to save the party from imploding.
He said: “Adams Oshiomhole should resign honourably for peace to reign in the APC. Instead of running away, he should resign. The fact that he was quizzed by the DSS shows that he has a case to answer.”
He alleged that the adoption of the direct primary by the party was questionable since it has no valid members register.
Meanwhile the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has weighed into the Adams-Oshiomhole crisis.
Alleging that party is swimming in corruption, National Publicity Secretary of the party, Me Kola Ologbondiyan said the “We are not mocking our neighbours but we are worried about allegations of corruption against National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole. The humongous amount and perfidy carried out under his sign is worrisome.
Attempts to get the reaction national officials failed as none would answer his phone.
Meanwhile, Oshiomhole has reportedly travelled out of the country after he was reportedly quizzed by the DSS over allegation of collecting money from aspirants who failed to pass the primary test. The party has however officially denied he was invited by the DSS.
