The Deputy Leader, Ohafia Legislative Council, Hon Kalu Mba-Nwoke has been told that he is an emerging eagle in the political space of the area and beyond.
Rev Handy Ijioma stated this after members of Men’s Christian Association (MCA) of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN), Betel Congregation, Asaga Ohafia honoured Mba-Nwoke as “Friend” of the church.
“An eagle is a strong, high-flying, rear, and delightful bird to behold. I want to tell you that your emerging presence in the political space of the area has been noticed by the people,” he said.
He appealed to the councillor representing Ohafor Ward 1 (Asaga Ohafia community) to remain dedicated and focused on his numerous developmental projects and programmes for the ward.
The reverend told Mba-Nwoke that it was by divine design that he began his political carrier at councillorship level in accordance with the dictum charity begins at home.
Stressing the honour was in recognition of the councillor’s track records of achievements in the office, he appealed to him to make himself available when called for any higher office.
Similarly, a member of the church, Elder Ajike Egwu Onum, congratulated members of the associstion on the occasion and the awardee for the honour.
The retired headmaster used the forum to appeal to members of the association in particular and christians in general to work together for the propagation of the gospel.
Speaking after receiving the award, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) councillor said it had challenged him to do more for the development of the ward.
He commended other politicians from the ward for their respectively contributions to its development and the association for the honour.
