Second Republic Senate President, Dr. Joseph Wayas under the presidency of Alhaji Shehu Shagari, has taken ill again in London, prompting the state government to issue a directive on the management of his health by the state
Home state governor, Ben Ayade of Cross River State, on Wednesday directed the Commissioner of Health, Dr Betta Edu to visit the former number two man in the country then to ensure proper care and management of his health
According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Christian Ita, ” the Govenor further directs the Commissioner to ensure that no expense is spared in the effort to nurse Dr Wayas back to health.”
Wayas was in September 2013 flown to India for treatment, after being diagnosed with diabetes and arthritis.
The administration of Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State had approved the trip.
