UEFA: Juventus Higuain Strikes Twice To Seal Monaco’s Dreamed Final

Juventus deadly striker, Gonzalo Higuain struck twice before he was puled out in the 76 minute to seal a hard earned but sweet away victory for his side against hard fighting Monaco at the Stade Louis II in France, in their first leg semi- final match on Wednesday.

With this 2-0 away victory, Juve looks good to meet Real Madrid, who piped Atletico Madrid, 3-0 in their first leg tie yesterday.

With assist from ex-Barcelona fullback, Dani Alves on each of the goal, the Monaco defense was caught napping each time Higuain got into in the 18-yard box.

There was no hat-trick for Gonzalo Higuain however as he was replaced by on-loan Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado for the final quarter of an hour.

Juventus defense and especially goalkeeper Gianlugi Buffon stood like an impregnable wall between the post and a daring combination of goal-poaching Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe and Radamel Falcao.

Buffon block and parried their shots across bar.

Once again he was excellent tonight, denying Monaco from the couple of very good chances they had.

Even so, Monaco could only have themselves to blame for the situation they found themselves in. They had their chances but failed to put them away.
