Luiz opens scoring for Chelsea

Roma’s Dzeko scores his second and thire goal to draw level Chelsea

Chelsea vs Roma Roma came from behind to give Chelsea a fight for their life at Stamford Bridge. The brilliant early start-off by the home team could not be sustained and brilliant Roma players who had been featured in the EPL for Manchester City, Aleksandar Kolarov and Edin Dzeko made the impact for Roma.

Playing central midfield for the defender he is known for certainly made a difference in David Luiz today who played as if you could not spot the difference and wasted no time in creating and using the chance to put Chelsea ahead at Stamford Bridge. Soon after Eden Hazard scored the second. But the celebration was however cut short by former Manchester City man Aleksandar Kolarov whose solo effort saw him whiz past Cesar Azpilicueta and shoots hard and high from a tight angle, a which deflected off Andreas Christensen and over Thibaut Courtois into the roof of the net. Soon after, another ex- Man City striker Edin Dzeko scores twice for Italians before Hazard nets second, bringing the tally to 3-3. These two former Manchester City men combine to great effect! Aleksandar Kolarov’s free-kick on the left wing is whipped in brilliantly, Edin Dzeko loses his marker and is able to flash a powerful header into the back of the net in front of the travelling fans.

Talismanic Messi was on song a again for Barca

Barcelona vs Olympiacos. Even with 80 per cent possession, it took the team in Barca to make it 1-0 through an own goal when Gerard Deulofeu’s cross was turned into his own net by the Greek champions’ Dimitris Nikolaou. But soon enough the effort began to show as Olympiacos give away a free-kick on the edge of the box as the danger man Lionel Messi was hacked down. He got up, dusted himself and took  a trademark free-kick to register his 100th goal in 122 games in Europe.

And three minutes later he turns provider, by pulling back to Lucas Digne who drills into the bottom corner to make it 3-0

Anderlecht vs PSG  A dashing combination between Edison Cavani who pulled the ball from the right back to Kylian Mbappe who made a quick work and finished it up with the first goal of the match on the edge of the box. Cavani headed in the second and the third striker in the three tagged force of PSG, Neymar, curled in a free-kick gets through a flaky Anderlecht wall which beats Matz Sels in the home goal.

Benfica vs Manchester United: Marcus Rashford gave his team the deserved lead after a hard fight with the host but unfortunately he limps out of the action and was substituted with Anthony Martial. Rashford’s free-kick from deep on the left was caught by goalie Svilar but he gave it away by crossing his own line. .

Bayern vs Celtic Two quick goals with the header from Joshua Kimmich who scored Bayern’s second in the same fashion as Robert Lewandowski through a header looped in from a good 15 yards.  Efforts by Celtic to take the game to the host was wanting from the very beginning when Thiago’s goal was disallowed for the slightest of fouls in the build-up and Lewandowski  penalty shout was turned down.  An 86th minute attempt at goal by Scott Sinclair for the visitors was disallowed, considered an offside. It ended 3-0
